Sunday Sermon Outline: Little By Little

“Little By Little”

 Introduction:

John 16:12-13, “I have many more things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. [13] “But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth.”

Mark 4:33, “With many similar parables Jesus spoke the word to them, as much as they could understand.”

Exodus 23:29-30, ““I will not drive them out before you in a single year, that the land may not become desolate and the beasts of the field become too numerous for you. [30] I will drive them out before you little by little, until you become fruitful and take possession of the land.”

Deuteronomy 7:22, ““The LORD your God will clear away these nations before you little by little; you will not be able to put an end to them quickly, for the wild beasts would grow too numerous for you.”

I. Little by little, God’s answers our prayers.

Job 30:20-21, “I cry out to You for help, but You do not answer me; I stand up, and You turn Your attention against me. [21] You have become cruel to me; With the might of Your hand You persecute me.”

Job 42:12, “The LORD blessed the latter days of Job more than his beginning.”

II. Little by little, we gain wisdom and maturity.

James 1:5, “But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him.”

III. Little by little, we gain wealth.

Proverbs 20:21, “An inheritance gained hurriedly at the beginning will not be blessed in the end.”

Proverbs 28:20, “A faithful man will abound with blessings, But he who makes haste to be rich will not go unpunished.”

Proverbs 28:22, “A man with an evil eye hastens after wealth And does not know that want will come upon him.”

IV. Little by little, we gain honor and prestige.

1 Peter 5:6, “Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you at the proper time.”

V. Little by little, we appreciate heaven all the more.

Colossians 1:3-6, “We give thanks to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you, [4] since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and the love which you have for all the saints; [5] because of the hope laid up for you in heaven, of which you previously heard in the word of truth, the gospel [6] which has come to you, just as in all the world also it is constantly bearing fruit and increasing, even as it has been doing in you also since the day you heard of it and understood the grace of God in truth.”

Conclusion:

Isaiah 28:9-10, “To whom would [God] teach knowledge, And to whom would He interpret the message? Those just weaned from milk? Those just taken from the breast? [10] For He says, ‘Order on order, order on order, Line on line, line on line, A little here, a little there.’”
