Sunday Sermon Outline: Feelings from the Bride of Christ

Feelings from the Bride of Christ

Introduction: 1 Timothy 5:11

I. The Bride’s Emotions

II. The Bride’s Affections
It is the “LORD of hosts, who judges righteously, who tries the feelings and the heart” (Jeremiah 11:20).
Matthew 9:36, “Seeing the people, He felt compassion for them, because they were distressed and dispirited like sheep without a shepherd.”
Matthew 21:32, “For John came to you in the way of righteousness and you did not believe him; but the tax collectors and prostitutes did believe him; and you, seeing this, did not even feel remorse afterward so as to believe him.”
Luke 8:13, “Those on the rocky soil are those who, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no firm root; they believe for a while, and in time of temptation fall away.”
2 Corinthians 7:15, “His affection abounds all the more toward you, as he remembers the obedience of you all, how you received him with fear and trembling.”
Philippians 1:8-11, “For God is my witness, how I long for you all with the affection of Christ Jesus. [9] And this I pray, that your love may abound still more and more in real knowledge and all discernment, [10] so that you may approve the things that are excellent, in order to be sincere and blameless until the day of Christ; [11] having been filled with the fruit of righteousness which comes through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.”

III. The Bride’s Decisions
Philippians 2:4, “Do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others.”
James 2:1, “My brethren, do not hold your faith in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ with an attitude of personal favoritism.”
“If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross and follow Me” (Matthew 16:24).
“Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own?” (1 Corinthians 6:19).
“He must increase, but I must decrease” (John 3:30).
“I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me” (Galatians 2:20).
John 14:21, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our abode with him.”
“For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free, and we were all made to drink of one Spirit. [14] For the body is not one member, but many” (1 Corinthians 12:13-14).
“Because you have seen Me, have you believed? Blessed are they who did not see, and yet believed” (John 20:29).

Conclusion: Revelation 14:4; 2 Corinthians 12:10; 11:26-27
““Hallelujah! For the Lord our God, the Almighty, reigns. [7] Let us rejoice and be glad and give the glory to Him, for the marriage of the Lamb has come and His bride has made herself ready.” [8] It was given to her to clothe herself in fine linen, bright and clean; for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints” (Revelation 19:6-8).
“I have been hurt by their adulterous hearts which turned away from Me, and by their eyes which played the harlot after their idols” (Ezekiel 6:9).
1 Timothy 2:11-14, “A woman must quietly receive instruction with entire submissiveness. [12] But I do not allow a woman to teach or exercise authority over a man, but to remain quiet. [13] For it was Adam who was first created, and then Eve. [14] And it was not Adam who was deceived, but the woman being deceived, fell into transgression.”
