Winter Woes!

It may be one more week before the messages resume and the series on Romans concludes. Last week, we traveled on Christmas Eve to be with our son and his wife in Logansport, IN. The trip took us three hours to get there ... and four and a half to get back thanks to a 5"-6" snow that fell while we were there. The return trip, late that evening, was one of the most hair-raising, white-knuckle experiences I've had in awhile. Fortunately, we made it home safely, although very late.

This week's message will be delayed by yet another of winter's surprises ... below-normal freezing temperatures. For those of you who do not know it, my wife and I have been living full-time in an RV for the last five years. While we can and do plan for many weather events, some are beyond our control. Our drains are frozen solid, and there is a crack in at least one of those pipes. The water is working, but has nowhere to go.

Therefore, we must ... go, that is. The water will be shut down, the heat turned as low as possible to keep things from freezing, and we will skedaddle to our daughter's house until the temps come back up above freezing and thaw the mess out. I'm sure she wasn't planning on houseguests for the next week or two, but I'm grateful that at least we have somewhere to go. We would be in a real pickle if it wasn't for Andrea and Josh.

Please pray for us ... for our sanity as a family. Small house, cold temps, seven people and two dogs can be a recipe for frayed nerves.
