Sunday Sermon Outline: God Hasn't Changed

“God Hasn’t Changed”
Malachi 3:6

Introduction: Colossians 3:2, “Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth”

Malachi 3:6, “For I, the LORD, do not change.”

I.  God’s NATURE has not changed.

Romans 1:20,“For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made ...”
John 1:14, “The word became flesh and dwelt among us”
James 1:17, “Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shifting shadow”

II. God’s CHARACTER has not changed.

Exodus 3:5

III. God’s PLANS have not changed.

1 Samuel 15:29,“The Glory of Israel will not lie or change His mind; for He is not a man that He should change His mind”
Philippians 1:6, “I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus.”
Jeremiah 29:1, “‘For I know the plans that I have for you,’ declares the LORD, ‘plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope.'”

IV. God’s PROMISES have not changed.

Hebrews 6:17-18, "In the same way God, desiring even more to show to the heirs of the promise the unchangeableness of His purpose, interposed with an oath, 18 so that by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have [n]taken refuge would have strong encouragement to take hold of the hope set before us."

V. God’s LOVE has not changed.

Ephesians 1:4-5,“He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we would be holy and blameless before Him. In love [5] He predestined us to adoption as sons through Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the kind intention of His will.”
Jeremiah 31:3, “I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore I have drawn you with lovingkindness.”
Isaiah 5:25, “On this account the anger of the LORD has burned against His people, And He has stretched out His hand against them and struck them down, And the mountains quaked; and their corpses lay like refuse in the middle of the streets. For all this His anger is not spent, But His hand is still stretched out”

Conclusion: “For, I the LORD, do not change.”
