Sunday Sermon Outline: Searching for Hearts

“Searching for Hearts”
2 Chronicles 16:9

2 Chronicles 16:9, “For the eyes of the LORD move to and fro throughout the earth that He may strongly support those whose heart is completely His.”

Introduction: Psalm 34:15, “The eyes of the LORD are on the righteous, and His ears are attentive to their cry” (1 Peter 3:12).


I.  Consider Noah
     Genesis 6:8, “Noah found favor in the eyes of the LORD.”


II. Consider Job
     Job 1:8, “there is no one like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, fearing God and turning away from evil.”


III. Consider Abraham
     Romans 4:16, "For this reason it is by faith, in order that it may be in accordance with grace, so that the promise will be guaranteed to all the descendants, not only to those who are of the Law, but also to those who are of the faith of Abraham, who is the father of us all."


IV. Consider Moses
     Exodus 33:11, “the LORD used to speak to Moses face to face, just as a man speaks to his friend.”
     Hebrews 3:5, “Moses was faithful in all [God's] house as a servant.”


V.  Consider David
     Acts 13:22, “He is A MAN AFTER MY HEART, who will do all My will.”
     Acts 7:46, “David found favor in God's sight.”


VI. Consider John the Baptist
     Luke 1:15, “he will be great in the sight of the Lord.”
     John 3:30, “He must increase, but I must decrease.”
     Matthew 11:11, “Truly I say to you, among those born of women there has not arisen anyone greater than John the Baptist.”


VII. Consider Yourself
     2 Chronicles 16:9, “the eyes of the LORD move to and fro throughout the earth that He may strongly support those whose heart is completely His.”
     2 Chronicles 16:10, "Asa was angry with the seer and put him in prison, for he was enraged at him for this. And Asa oppressed some of the people at the same time.”
