Jude 1:24-25
Our Great Joy

Introduction:
     Jude 1:24-25, "Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, and to make you stand in the presence of His glory blameless with great joy,25 to the only God our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen."

I. A Present Help v. 24a
     "Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling ..."

     Luke 17:1, “It is inevitable that stumbling blocks come, but woe to him through whom they come!"
     John 11:9-10, “Are there not twelve hours in the day? If anyone walks in the day, he does not stumble, because he sees the light of this world.10 But if anyone walks in the night, he stumbles, because the light is not in him.”
     John 16:1, “These things I have spoken to you so that you may be kept from stumbling."
     "These are grumblers, finding fault, following after their own lusts; they speak arrogantly, flattering people for the sake of gaining an advantage" (v. 16).
     "These are the ones who cause divisions, worldly-minded, devoid of the Spirit" (v. 19).
     2 Peter 1:5-10, "applying all diligence, in your faith supply moral excellence, and in your moral excellence, knowledge,6 and in your knowledge, self-control, and in your self-control, perseverance, and in your perseverance, godliness,7 and in your godliness, brotherly kindness, and in your brotherly kindness, love.8 For if these qualities are yours and are increasing, they render you neither useless nor unfruitful in the true knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.9 For he who lacks these qualities is blind or short-sighted, having forgotten his purification from his former sins.10 Therefore, brethren, be all the more diligent to make certain about His calling and choosing you; for as long as you practice these things, you will never stumble;"

II. A Future Hope v. 24b
     "... and to make you stand in the presence of His glory blameless with great joy;"

     2 Peter 1:3-11, "His divine power has granted to us everything pertaining to life and godliness, " ... "as long as you practice these things, you will never stumble;11 for in this way the entrance into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ will be abundantly supplied to you."
     Philippians 2:12-16, "work out your salvation with fear and trembling;13 for it is God who is at work in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure. 14 Do all things without grumbling or disputing;15 so that you will prove yourselves to be blameless and innocent, children of God above reproach in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you appear as lights in the world,16 holding fast the word of life, so that in the day of Christ I will have reason to glory because I did not run in vain nor toil in vain."
     Colossians 1:21-23, "although you were formerly alienated and hostile in mind, engaged in evil deeds,22 yet He has now reconciled you in His fleshly body through death, in order to present you before Him holy and blameless and beyond reproach—23 if indeed you continue in the faith firmly established and steadfast, and not moved away from the hope of the gospel that you have heard"
     "Our citizenship is in heaven" (Phillipians 3:20)

III. An Everlasting Head v. 25
     "to the only God our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen."

     Psalm 50:14-15, “Offer to God a sacrifice of thanksgiving and pay your vows to the Most High; 15 Call upon Me in the day of trouble; I shall rescue you, and you will honor Me.”
     John 5:23, "He who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent Him."
     Romans 4:19-22, "Without becoming weak in faith he contemplated his own body, now as good as dead since he was about a hundred years old, and the deadness of Sarah’s womb;20 yet, with respect to the promise of God, he did not waver in unbelief but grew strong in faith, giving glory to God,21 and being fully assured that what God had promised, He was able also to perform.22 Therefore it was also credited to him as righteousness."
     Psalm 145:3-5, "Great is the Lord, and highly to be praised, and His greatness is unsearchable. 4 One generation shall praise Your works to another, and shall declare Your mighty acts. 5 On the glorious splendor of Your majesty and on Your wonderful works, I will meditate." 
     1 Chronicles 29:11, "Yours, O Lord, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the victory and the majesty, indeed everything that is in the heavens and the earth; Yours is the dominion, O Lord, and You exalt Yourself as head over all."

Conclusion:
     Jude 1:1-2, "To those who are the called, beloved in God the Father, and kept for Jesus Christ:2 May mercy and peace and love be multiplied to you."
